2016 is more than halfway over, and I’ve barely written any posts at all! But I had some good excuses:
2016 Summary (So Far)
Mythic Mortals was a HUGE project. It has consumed my weekends since the kickstarter launched. Apart from a few glitches, it was a blast to work on. The game is done, and has the final expansion coming in the next week or so. I’m so proud of the final product! The feedback has been positive, and I look forward to seeing more people play it over the next few years.
200 Word RPG returned this year in force. Unlike last year I had time to plan ahead and prepare. Despite a minor hiccup near the end, it went very smoothly, and we had some great entries! One of my big goals this year was to raise money for a charity and collect all of the entries into a nicely formatted PDF. We were able to accomplish both of those goals, and you can grab all of the entries for free at the bolded link.
Believe it or not, these two projects consumed almost all of my free time and creative energy. Now that they are (almost) over, let’s take a look at what’s in store for the rest of 2016:
Kintsugi Reforged is something I’ve been working on for a while, but just recently got the money and motivation to wrap up. The core rules remain the same, but I’ve expanded it with mission generator tables, GM advice, and better explanations/examples. I may upgrade a few more of my free games with an expanded, paid-for version. But we’ll see.
Maroon Corps started as a simple hack of Into the Odd, but has since expanded to it’s own thing. For now it’s a dungeon crawler in development, but eventually I’d like to turn it into a board game or card game of some kind, like One Deck Dungeon. We’ll see what the dice have in store for this project. You can get a preview at the bolded link.
I’ve definitely missed writing my Paragraph Reviews, and have acquired a bunch of new games that I can’t wait to read and review. Let me know if you have any suggestions, but I hope to add about 30-40 new reviews by the end of the year.
Blog Posts are not something I put much effort into, especially since I re-designed my website to be more of a storefront than a blog. But I want to get back into the habit, especially about personal issues that crossover into the tabletop space. I’m not setting a specific goal, but I definitely hope to write MORE blog posts than I have been. Keeping expectations low is half the battle!
Thanks so much for keeping up with the Grimoire! I look forward to the rest of 2016!
